招募英語師資

教育部自2002 年底開始研議引進外籍英語教師至國內公立國中小任教，2004 年正式啟 動。外師所需資格、權利及義務如下，有興趣者可向當地國政府教育局（廳）或我國駐外文 化組洽詢。

資格
  1. 以英語為母語之教師。
  2. 至少大學畢業。
  3. 於所居之英語系國家，取得當地國中英語教師或國小教師之合格教師證書。
  4. 身心健康且無犯罪紀錄等。
福利
  1. 月薪、超支鐘點費、考核獎金
  2. 來台之來回經濟艙機票各乙張，配偶或一直系血親親屬隨同來台者，亦同。
  3. 提供外師校舍或補助外師房租津貼(單身補助新台幣5000 元；家庭補助新台幣10,000)。
  4. 全民健康保險及勞工保險。
  5. 除國定假日與例假日外，每年並享有10 天給薪假期；其他婚假、產假、喪假、公假等依各縣市政府相關規定辦理。
義務
  1. 與學校簽訂聘僱契約。
  2. 教授國中或國小學生、本地教師或人員。
  3. 參與教學觀摩、研討會。
  4. 協助指導英語活動。
  5. 協助學校雙語化作業。
  6. 聘僱期間以一年為原則，可視雙方意願續約。
  7. 工作時間為每週工作5 天，每天工作時數8 小時，不得兼職。
  8. 於國中或中學任教者，每週授課節數至多22 節，一節為45 或50 分鐘、於國小任教者，每週授課節數至多24 節，一節為40 分鐘；另有支援他校者，以不超過3 所為原則。

MOE Foreign English Teachers Project for Taiwan’s Public Schools

The Ministry of Education, in an effort to provide a better English learning environment for Taiwan students in rural areas has announced a project to bring in qualified foreign English teachers to Taiwan for teaching in public elementary and junior high schools, especially for those in rural areas.

Foreign English Teachers: Requirements and Employment Conditions

The requirements and employment conditions for teachers of the project are as below. People who are interested and qualified (having a bachelor or higher degree and a teaching certificate) can inquire your local Education Department or our Cultural Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago.

  1. Qualifications Required
    1. English native speaker
    2. Bachelor’s degree or above
    3. Teaching certificate
    4. No criminal record
  2. Employment Period: One academic year or at least one semester
  3. Number of teachers needed: 15-30.
  4. Remunerations and Other Benefits
    1. Air Fare: One economy-class round trip ticket for single.
      Two economy-class round trip tickets for family.
    2. Housing Allowance/Dormitory:
      NT$5,000 for single per month;
      NT$10,000 for family per month.
    3. Health Care Benefits: Health insurance and labor insurance
    4. Monthly Salary ( For School year 2006; depending on teaching experience):
      Holders of doctoral degrees: NT$ 70,895~88,755
      Holders of master’s degrees: NT$ 67,925~84,290
      Holders of bachelor’s degrees: NT$ 60,890~75,770
    5. Bonus: Teachers who have taught for 12 months, whose annual performance
      are graded A, are each given an extra month’s pay as bonus; those
      whose performance are graded B, are each given an extra 1/2 month's
      pay as bonus.
  5. Living Costs: Total expenses could be as little as NT$15,000 for a single, more
    realistic to expect NT$20~25,000 per month. Taiwan’s per capita
    GNP: US$13,925 (1:32 about NT$445,600)
  6. Work week: 40 hours/8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
