2022 MOE Huayu Enrichment Scholarship
This scholarship is offered to non-Chinese heritage students interested in studying Chinese in Taiwan, and is available for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months. The 2022 scholarship covers the study period from September 2022 to August 2023. Recipients of this scholarship will be given a stipend totaling NT$25,000 per month for study at a university-affiliated language center in Taiwan.
Due to the pandemic, Taiwan has restricted entry for foreigners. More updates from the Bureau of Consular Affairs can be found at HERE. The periods of scholarship listed above are tentative and subject to change.

The following documents are required before the application can be processed:
- Completed application form
- Official transcripts for all degree programs attained
- Study plan (Any supporting information, including resume, study motivation, academic goal, etc.)
- Two recommendation letters
- Passport (photo-page) copy
- Proof of application to a selected language center
(Applicants must apply directly to the language centers for admission.)
Above documents must be received by our office no later than March 31, 2022. Our office only accepts applications from U.S. citizens whose permanent addresses are in IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, NE, OH, WI, ND and SD.
The successful applicants will be announced as the scholarship candidates by the end of April. In order to confirm the awards, the candidates are required to submit proof of school admission they intend to study before the date requested in the announcement.
