TAIPEI, Taiwan – Huayu 101, an online Mandarin Chinese learning platform established by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MOE) for foreigners on short-term stays in Taiwan, has launched six new learning scenarios this year for Chinese language learners. Since the Huayu 101 website went live in May 2017, it has attracted almost 90,000 active users and received positive feedback from students and teachers in Taiwan and overseas.
In addition to Huayu 101, the Office of Global Mandarin Education (OGME) established by the MOE also offers free online learning courses for teachers and learners, including “Start From Scratch,” “Intermediate Chinese,” “FLTA Story Book Series,” “Mandarin in 300 Sentences,” and “Fall in Love With Mandarin.” Please refer to the attached news release for QR code or visit Huayu 101 website for more information.
Asian Pop-up Cinema Presents “Mini Focus: Taiwan Cinema Online,” Free Streaming DETENTION and WE ARE CHAMPION
Asian Pop-Up Cinema has launched a curated online program titled “Mini-Focus: Taiwan Cinema Online,” focusing on contemporary Taiwanese cinema. Taipei Cultural Center in New York is very pleased to collaborate with APUC, Chicago’s only pan-Asian film festival presenting 3 short films and 5 narrative features will be streamed for free during June 5-12. National Cheng Kung University(NCKU) invites international students to join the second admission application, the theme of “Resilient and Innovative Future” for master’s and doctoral degree. The application period will be 5/18/2020 – 6/19/2020. Student will be notified of admission acceptance within 6 weeks of application received date. Admission acceptance letter will be mailed on 7/31/2020.
Application fee for students applying for master’s or doctoral degree programs in the attached departments shall be waived. Besides application online, applicants shall provide the research proposal for NCKU OIA Research Talent Cultivation Project: Resilient and Innovative Future. (All format is acceptable). NCKU Distinguished International Students Scholarship are available for Master Degree (monthly up to 9,000 NT) and Doctor Degree(monthly up to 15,000 NT). The Leaders in Future Trends 2020(LIFT 2.0) program, hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in Taiwan, is now recruiting all talent individuals from Taiwan studying and working aboard to contribute their expertise in Taiwan.
Lift 2.0 seeks to provide a platform for the establishment of connections between overseas talent and Taiwan’s industries, universities, and research institutes through both online and offline activities. Under this Program, qualified overseas talent will receive round-trip airfare and full subsidies for meals and accommodation in Taiwan. Arrangements will be made for participants to attend the “Leaders in Future Trends O2O Conference,” and they will have opportunities to meet face-to-face with domestic firms, universities, and research organizations with the goal of finding employment opportunities in Taiwan.
